Jessica Gaffney is a Brisbane-based emerging artist currently studying a Bachelor of Visual Arts at the Queensland College of Art.
Gaffney works across public murals and intimate, personal paintings, her practice explores the significance of domestic spaces and their role in emotional comfort and self-regulation.
Beginning her artistic journey in 2025, she has developed a fascination with translucency, light absorption within oil paint techniques. Drawing from sourced imagery of familiar domestic environments, using light, and layered surfaces to investigate the complexity of comfort, reflecting on how these personal spaces provide a sense of safety, familiarity and emotional grounding.
